Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for taking the time to review these materials. Below are a series of links to all of the materials cited in the alignment document uploaded to the MIDAS/RIMS review system for the Spring 2024 review. We have also provided a link to the same alignment document here.
The materials below are divided into three main categories, each of which corresponds to a particular published program.
These are:
Phonemic Awareness For All Learners -
Phonemic Awareness is a fundamental reading skill. Phonemic Awareness or PA, is the ability to hear and manipulate the sounds in spoken words and the understanding that spoken words are made up of sounds. Research has shown, struggling readers are often lacking this critical beginning reading skill. This program is a great introduction to reading and connects directly to the first few books of Reading For All Learners. This program is intended to be used with preschool and early elementary age learners. This is a very easy program to use and a great way build-reading readiness. Phonemic Awareness For All Learners is a complete classroom package. Included are the Teachers Manual and sturdy spiral bound Presentation Book. When open, the student(s) and instructor sit opposite each other. The student sees the presentation side of pages and the instructor can read the script (direct instruction model) for each lesson. Lessons may be taught in small group settings or on an individual basis.
Reading For All Learners -
The Reading for All Learners beginning reading curriculum was created to combine the needs and interests of children with the research findings on systematic and explicit phonics-based approaches to reading instruction. Based on extensive research, the program consists of 141 books and more than 300 lessons that combine both fun stories, as well as thorough and systematic teacher-led instruction. The program is designed to build skills and develop a positive attitude towards reading. The use of small, skill appropriate, books helps make progress visible and provides reinforcement of success.
Fluency Builders -
The seven Fluency Builders student books include 54 lessons that effectively address core reading requirements for fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Each of the books have teenagers in the central roles and are set in different times, places, and cultures, from the Eighteenth Century Caribbean to future space travel. This range of settings prepares the student to make the transition from recreation to content area reading. A proven program for making the transition from learning to read to reading to learn.
Locating items noted in Alignment Document -
We created this webpage on guidance from the IMC team that external links to materials were the preferred way to access materials. With the exception of a few items (which we note) most of these links and downloads will be removed following the review cycle. As we are providing downloads that include internal development documents that are not intended to be freely downloaded we would ask that these links/pdfs not be shared outside of the review process.
Throughout the alignment document we try to provide direction to the most efficient way to review materials in relation to the Science of Reading rubric found here - Science of Reading (SOR) Evidence-Informed Core Criteria Checklist For example, rather than direct you to all 141 books in the Reading For All Learners series we direct you to word list download that includes the words introduced and the order of their introduction. We do include links to all of the books themselves so all materials can be reviewed.
In an effort to streamline the alignment document we use the below abbreviations of program titles that are used heavily throughout the document. For example, the Reading For All Learners program is abbreviated RFAL, Fluency Builders is FB and Phonemic Awareness For All Learners is PA. In describing the locations for locating rubric related items we first point to a particular program i.e. "RFAL:" and then specific page numbers of a linked/downloadable item. For example "RFAL TG page 3" points towards the Reading For All Learners Teachers Guide page 3. Regarding page numbers, the numbers listed are the printed page numbers not the page number of the pdf file. If the document does not contain printed page numbers the pdf file page number is used.
We would be glad to answer any questions or fix any discovered technical glitches. We can be reached via email at read@iseesam.com or via telephone at 435-755-7885.

Phonemic Awareness For All Learners
PA - Phonemic Awareness For All Learners Presentation Book
A note about the Phonemic Awareness Presentation Book: When open, the student(s) and instructor sit opposite each other with the manual held horizontally in-between with the coil-binding on top. The student sees the presentation side of pages and the instructor can see the scripted lesson guidance for each lesson. As the pages are turned both the script and presentation content change. This is a challenging format to review digitally. In the download we have combined each lesson's presentation materials and the associated lesson guidance onto a single page. We have removed all of the pages used to control the reveal of lesson content though these pages are described in the lesson guidance. This format should make understanding the lesson content much easier. Please reach out with any questions.
