We have worked for about a year and a half with our pre-K/Kindergartener reading sets 1-7. We just started set 8. As educators ourselves, my husband and I revel in the brilliance of these books. New vocabulary and new reading rules are introduced prior to the stories. Familiar vocabulary is also re-introduced prior to stories. Each story is also accompanied by comprehension and prediction questions. There are also periodic 'looking back' sections to evaluate progress. The entire set-up of each book facilitates teaching and learning how to read so expertly. I can honestly say that this series makes teaching and learning how to read easy! I learned how to read using this set of books 40+ years ago and I am so grateful that I get to use them again, but as a mom! The colored versions are more updated culturally and ethnically, which I appreciate. There are some spelling and grammatical errors , but we just use those as teaching moments. My 6 year old LOVES reading these and we love giving him the experiences to empower himself to read. As a side note, he is the only kindergartener who is reading with first graders, at his school. Thank you, Reading for All Learners!! P.S. As a bonus, this company excels in their customer service!! :)
